JB Kind Golf Day Raises Over £2,400 for South Derbyshire Community Voluntary Support
South Derbyshire Community Voluntary Support (CVS) will benefit from a £2,400 donation following JB Kind’s Charity Golf Day, surpassing the initial £2,000 fundraising target. The event took place last week at the scenic Willesley Park Golf Club in Ashby-de-la-Zouch, where eight teams competed in a day of fun, friendly competition, and community spirit.
The Golf Day, a bi-annual fixture organised by JB Kind’s Charity Committee, is one of many fundraising efforts by the Derbyshire-based door distributor. Commenting on the success of the event, JB Kind’s Managing Director, James Cadman, said:
“Our charity committee works tirelessly to create enjoyable and impactful fundraising events, and our Golf Day has become a much-anticipated tradition. We’re thrilled to have exceeded our target, raising £2,400 for South Derbyshire CVS. A special congratulations to the winning team from Astute Financial Solutions and a big thank you to all the teams who generously dedicated their time and support. We’re also grateful to our hole sponsors and raffle contributors, whose donations were invaluable in making the day such a success. It was a fantastic mix of enthusiastic amateurs and seasoned golfers, all united by the common goal of raising funds for this wonderful charity.”
James also emphasised the importance of supporting South Derbyshire CVS:
“Given the impact of the ongoing cost-of-living crisis on local communities, it made perfect sense to support South Derbyshire CVS. The funds raised will primarily support their Food Bank and Mental Well-being Support Service, crucial resources as we approach the busy Christmas season.”
JB Kind has a long-standing commitment to supporting local causes, having raised over £40,000 for various charities over the past 12 years. South Derbyshire CVS will remain a focus of the company’s charitable efforts throughout 2024 and 2025, as selected by JB Kind employees.
Event Highlights:
In addition to the victorious Astute Financial Solutions team, the event saw prizes awarded to the second-place team ‘MKM’ and the third-place ‘Steve Lee and Friends’. The day was full of smiles, with numerous raffle winners taking home prizes and every player receiving golf-themed goodies for participating.
The event wasn’t just about golf. Players were welcomed with bacon rolls on arrival, and the day ended with a two-course meal during the awards presentation—rounding off a perfect autumn day with great food and even better company.
JB Kind would like to extend its thanks to everyone who contributed, ensuring the event’s success, and looks forward to continuing their fundraising efforts for South Derbyshire CVS in the coming year.
