A Christmas Boost for South Derbyshire CVS: JB Kind Raises Over £3,500
We’re thrilled to announce that JB Kind has raised £3,670 for South Derbyshire Community Voluntary Support (CVS), as part of our two-year fundraising commitment. Chosen by the JB Kind team as our charity of the year for 2024 and 2025 – South Derbyshire CVS provides crucial services like an emergency food bank, projects to reduce loneliness and isolation, and mental wellbeing support.
Managing Director, James Cadman, highlights the importance of supporting local initiatives during a challenging time:
“All our staff are aware of the cost-of-living crisis and its impact on our community. South Derbyshire CVS does incredible work supporting individuals facing financial hardship, loneliness, and mental health challenges. We’re proud to play a small part in helping them make a difference.”
Our main 2024 fundraising events included a successful charity golf day, an Easter raffle, bake weeks, and a lively Summer pub quiz. “It’s been a team effort, and I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved so far,” James adds.
Hollie Benton, Chief Executive of South Derbyshire CVS, expressed her gratitude:
“We are delighted to receive this fantastic donation from JB Kind. Not only have their team worked tirelessly to support the charity’s fundraising efforts, but they have also spent time with the SDCVS team to get to know our services and understand the impact of the work we do. The number of residents needing support from the Food Bank increases each year, and without the support of local businesses like JB Kind, we wouldn’t be able to meet this demand. We look forward to working together in 2025”
Reflecting on the year, James shared his thanks:
“I’d like to thank everyone who contributed – our amazing JB Kind team, partners, and participants. This interim total of £3,670 is just the beginning, and we’re excited to see what we can achieve in 2025. Giving back to the local community is a privilege, and we are grateful to support such a worthwhile cause.”
