JB Kind celebrate “40 years in doors” anniversary

JB Kind is marking its anniversary with a charity 80s themed Disco Dinner

JB Kind, has evolved during its 150 plus years in business, from joiners, to timber merchants, to box and pallet manufacturers and, for the past 40 years, timber door suppliers.

In 1983, a new division of the business was set up to sell timber doors locally. Today, 40 years on, this sub-division has grown into a multi-million pound turnover business that distributes doors nationally to the housebuilding and renovation markets.

To mark their anniversary, the JB Kind team are hosting an 80s themed charity Disco Dinner at Burton Albion Football Club to raise money for Burton & District Mind. The 80s disco dinner is being held on September 29th and a £40 ticket will include a three-course dinner, disco, games and a raffle. 80s themed dress code is being encouraged with a prize for the best dressed!

JB Kind managing director James Cadman says: “Here at JB Kind, we’re very proud of our long history in the timber industry and wish to mark our 40th anniversary as door suppliers by supporting our chosen charity Burton & District Mind.

“As our door business hails from the 1980’s, an era that has some fantastic music and wild fashion, we knew an 80s themed fundraising event would be the perfect way to help raise money for mental health support services in our local area.”

James adds: “We’re really excited to be hosting a charity 80s Disco Dinner at Burton Albion Football Club to raise funds for Burton & District Mind. We promise a superb night with food, fun and dancing – we hope that people will come and enjoy themselves for this worthy cause. All you need to do is dust off your 80s outfit and join us!”

Last year, JB Kind raised over £4,600 for Burton & District Mind with the profits from a Charity Golf Day as well as a summer Pub Quiz, office based raffles and cake bakes. We support a different charity every two years and, following the effects of the Covid pandemic, the fundraising committee were unanimous in wanting to support a mental health charity. Burton & District Mind was a perfect fit.
