2019 fundraising total for Dementia UK
We’re proud to announce that we’ve raised £4,200 for Dementia UK – the charity that cares for families facing dementia through dementia specialist Admiral Nurses. When things get challenging or difficult for people with dementia and their families, Admiral Nurses work alongside them, giving the compassionate one-to-one support, expert guidance and practical solutions people need to face dementia.
Employees and friends of JB Kind helped us raise the bulk of the cash at our glittering charity gala dinner held at Burton Albion Football Club in October. On the night, guests enjoyed classic party games, took part in a raffle and were entertained by talented tribute act RedEd Sheeran. The rest of the money has been raised through cake bake sales, dress down days, sports sweepstakes and tuck shop profits.
JB Kind managing director James Cadman says: “Charitable fundraising is a big part of our ethos here at JB Kind. We really believe in giving back to the community.
“I am delighted that we have been able to raise £4,200 for Dementia UK this year. Dementia is increasingly high up on the national health agenda and many of us have been touched by its effects on loved ones and families.
“We are hoping to support Dementia UK in getting one of its Admiral Nurses into Derbyshire so that more support to families in this county can be provided.”
We’ve traditionally supported a different charity every two years, having raised nearly £8,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support in a previous campaign. Next year, more funds are planned to be raised for Dementia UK when we hold one of our highly successful charity golf days.
